A boy is fighting for his life in hospital after suffering a serious case of mumps.

The 16-year-old schoolboy from Hove was last night being treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton after experiencing serious side effects linked to the illness.

The boy, a student from Cardinal Newman Catholic School, in The Upper Drive, was last night said to be in ?an extremely serious condition? in hospital, having suffered a ?not unknown, but rare, complication?...
