There were 22,000 new cases of swine flu in England in the last week, the Government has said.
The figures show a decline from the estimated 46,000 new cases reported the week before. England's Chief Medical Officer, Sir Liam Donaldson, said there was "a striking reduction" in the incidence of swine flu in young children but said it was too early to claim victory in the fight against the virus. The number of people who have died with swine flu has risen from 163 deaths in England to 178.
Another 25 people in total have died in Wales, alongside 54 in Scotland and 13 in Northern Ireland. The UK total now stands at 270.
