A MOTHER has released disturbing pictures of her sick daughter lying helpless in her hospital bed in a desperate attempt to identify the mystery condition which is ravaging her body.
Fifteen-year-old Vicky Archer has spent the last 10 weeks in hospital after being struck down by a mystery illness which has caused her body to swell and become covered in a painful and itchy rash.
In September Vicky, from Yate, was bitten by a mosquito on holiday in Menorca. Since then she has developed a mysterious, debilitating illness which is affecting most of her body. Her memory has also been failing, with her not recognising her own mum Alison at times.
She is suffering from liver inflammation and bleeding from her mouth, as well as being sick, swollen lips, tongue, face, eyes, fingers and now has swollen ankles and legs.

As well as the rash and swelling all over her body, Vicky, who has lost a stone in weight during her time in hospital, has also suffered inflammation of the liver, possible kidney problems,
bleeding from her mouth and sickness.
She has also had difficulty swallowing and at times has found it difficult to eat.
The hospital had planned on a number of occasions to carry out a full body MRI on Vicky to diagnose what they now think the problem could be ? a form of Vasculitis which affects the skin, joints, bowels and kidneys.
However the family say that 10 weeks in, the scan has been repeatedly rescheduled or cancelled due to outpatient appointments taking priority...
