Three dogs have died after an outbreak of a rare disease called Alabama Rot.

Heartbroken dog owners are asking others to be vigilant amid the outbreak, as Staffordshire Police say three dogs have died.

Alabama Rot is a rare disease that causes damage to dogs' blood vessels and kidneys that is often fast-acting and fatal, but the cause of it is still unknown. A veterinarian practice, E C Straiton & Partners LT in Penkridge, has had one confirmed and one unconfirmed report of the disease.

Two dogs have died and another left seriously ill after an outbreak of the deadly disease Alabama Rot near Leicestershire.

Two whippets were killed by the disease which damages a dog?s blood vessels and kidneys.

The dogs are believed to have contracted the lethal Alabama Rot ? which is notoriously difficult to treat ? in Swadlincote, which is near the Leicestershire and Derbyshire border.

Hartshorne Veterinary Practice confirmed the outbreak to the Burton Mail ...

It seems another case of Alabama Rot, a disease that can be deadly to dogs, has been confirmed in Cornwall.

Penmellyn Vets in St Austell said "all clinical evidence" pointed to the fact that one of the animals it treated had died from the rare condition.

In a warning post on Facebook, the team said the dog commonly went for walks at Par Beach, Prideaux Woods and in the Treverbyn Clay area...
