Two SD deaths linked to swine flu

The deaths of two more people in San Diego County have been linked to the swine flu outbreak, health officials announced Tuesday.
The latest victims were a 57-year-old man with no underlying medical conditions and a 65-year-old woman with underlying medical conditions, according to the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency.
Both tested positive for H1N1, but the virus might not be the cause of death, the HHSA reported.
So far, there have been 47 deaths in San Diego County linked to the H1N1 influenza, according to the HHSA. Forty of the victims were from San Diego County and seven were visiting the area.
Locally, 673 people have been hospitalized with the virus, according to the HHSA.
County health officials also announced that they have received an additional shipment of the H1N1 vaccine.
Each of the county?s seven public health centers has received 1,000 doses of the injectable version of the vaccine and 500 doses of the nasal spray vaccine, according to the HHSA. An additional 23,000 doses will be used for school vaccination clinics.
The vaccine is being distributed to those at the highest risk of complications from the H1N1 influenza including children and young adults, adults with chronic medical conditions, health care workers and those in households with infants under 6 months.
