Two Danes contract measles on skiing holiday

According to the State Serum Institute (SSI), two adult Danes have contracted measles while on a skiing holiday in the Val Thorens area of the French Alps.
SSI urges all people travelling to Val Thorens to make sure they are vaccinated before leaving, if they haven?t already had the illness...
Epidemic outbreak of measles in Val Thorens (Savoie)
[FONT=pt_sans-caption]An epidemic outbreak of measles has been identified in Val Thorens located in the town of Belleville, Savoie. Public Health France publishes a situation update on February 13, 2019 .
The epidemic outbreak has 5 confirmed cases (positive biological results) and 20 suspected cases of measles, mostly for young adults working on the winter sports resort.
Of these cases, 4 were hospitalized but do not correspond to severe forms.
In addition, the Scottish and Belgian health authorities reported 2 suspected cases of measles among residents of their return country respectively of M?ribel and Val Thorens.
The ski resort Val Thorens is very busy, especially since the beginning of the French school holidays on February 9 and hosts many foreign nationals, especially Dutch, British and Scandinavian. These conditions may favor the occurrence of new cases of measles in the coming weeks as well as the extension to other French regions or foreign countries.
In this particular situation and in order to stop the spread of the virus, it is recommended to update with two doses of MMR vaccine the vaccination status of any person born since 1980. For people who have been in contact with a case, vaccination, if it is performed within 72 hours after the first potentially infective contact with a case, can prevent the occurrence of the disease.
