Brevard reports fifth swine-flu death
FLORIDA TODAY ? November 30, 2009
A fifth swine-flu death was reported by the Brevard County Health Department on Monday.

A 46-year-old Brevard County man on a vacation to San Diego died Nov. 9 at a hospital there, according to Dr. Heidar Heshmati, the director of the health department.

?He was in good health when he left for California in late October but fell sick on the airplane,? Heshmati said.

The man came down with flu-like symptoms on Nov. 2, was admitted to the intensive care unit on Nov. 4 and passed away less than a week later.

?The underlying risk factor was that he was overweight,? Heshmati said.
