The number of tick-borne diseases in the Czech Republic reached a 10-year high in the first seven months of 2025.
The blood-sucking parasites can transmit serious illnesses such as Lyme disease.
“This year, we have already reported 372 cases of tick-borne encephalitis, which is a record number for the last 10 years. The same 10-year record is also held this year by reported cases of Lyme borreliosis, which has now reached 3,057,” the State Health Institute wrote on X on Friday...
