OKLAHOMA CITY -- Several hospitals in the Oklahoma City area are now requiring employees to either get a flu shot or wear masks in patient areas through the end of flu season in spring.

Hospital officials are also encouraging employees get swine flu vaccinations as they become available.

Hospitals requiring the shots or masks include the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, The Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center and Edmond Medical Center.

Oklahoma State Health Department immunization services director Ken Cadaret says the department requires all hospitals offer free flu shots to employees.
