There is a global debt crisis

I've read about an impending debt crisis involving many countries that has unknown consequences if one defaults. The COVID frauds are part of this interview, but the debt bubble is discussed. I've been looking at World Bank data and the debt loads out there are shocking. COVID added to it.

Welcome to the cauldron

Unfortunately, the world is sitting on a sovereign debt timebomb that could be triggered at any time by the smallest event. This is confirmed by the IMF’s data, which identifies 32 countries as being at high risk of unsustainable debt. Their borrowings have more than tripled in just two years. We have to remember how serious the consequences can be when a country’s finances spiral out of control: take Venezuela, which is facing a humanitarian crisis with projected inflation of 10,000,000% by the end of this year.

While most people are aware there was a financial crisis in 2008, they will surely fail to link it with the next one. For many reasons, they could be right. The Lehman crisis was driven by an excess of residential property speculation, liar loans and their securitisation. The next one is likely to be a bond, stock and currency crisis triggered by rising bond yields undermining the debt pile and weakening the dollar. It is only philosophising observers who notice that these crises happen regularly and have done so for a long time, approximately once every decade. The common link is debt, flowing and ebbing in periodic expansions followed by sudden contractions of bank credit...

The organization's debt data portal indicated that 54 countries around the world are currently facing debt crises, insofar as debt payments are hampering governments' ability to preserve citizens' economic and social rights.

A further 14 countries are at risk of both public and private debt crisis, while 22 are in danger of a solely private sector debt crisis and 21 a public sector crisis.

Of all external debt payments owed in 2022 by low and lower middle-income governments, 47% are to private lenders, 27% multilateral institutions, 12% China and 14% other governments, according to JDC figures.

In a tweet last week, World Bank President David Malpass called for urgent debt relief, enhanced debt transparency and a rebalancing of creditor and debtor powers. The G-20 created the Common Framework in 2020, intended to aid countries facing insolvency and protracted liquidity problems.

However, none of the countries admitted to the framework have yet had any debt canceled. The African Forum and Network on Debt and Development (AFRODAD) has long warned that many African countries were facing a debt precipice, and Zambia in November 2020 became the continent's first pandemic-era default.

I can't find the data from back before the 2008 crisis, but I think it's more of a sovereign debt crisis one analyst is concerned about. I think the EU went through something like that 2011-2012. He said that the EU is considered so shaky that Wall Street will not accept any sovereign debt as collateral.
