Northeast hit by outbreak of influenza

NAKHON RATCHASIMA, 25 April 2014 (NNT) ? Over 1,700 cases of influenza have been reported in Thailand?s northeast region, with Nakhon Ratchasima being the hardest hit by the outbreak.

The Disease Prevention Control Office Region 5 in Nakhon Ratchasima said that since the beginning of this year, the influenza virus has claimed six lives total. Lower northeastern provinces such as Buriram, Surin, and Chaiyaphum report the highest number of patients. Altogether 1,708 people have contracted the disease so far. ..
