Taipei, March 15 (CNA) An 11-month-old baby girl has been confirmed as being infected with measles, the second imported case of measles infection this year, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said Wednesday.

The airline said its employee had quarantined herself at home, while her colleagues had been asked to monitor their health closely.

The woman was the fifth case of measles recorded in Taiwan this year, according to the CDC.

She returned from overseas on April 7, had fever and a rash around the mouth on April 8 which expanded over her body the following day, which led her to seek medical treatment on April 10. The test results diagnosed her with measles on Wednesday, the CDC said.

The woman had served on flights to Paris, Singapore, Bangkok and the Chinese cities of Beijing and Hangzhou, EVA said. However, during the most crucial period, when infection of other individuals was possible, she worked on the April 5-6 BR 62 flight from Vienna to Bangkok and on the April 7 BR 212 flight from the Thai capital to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, both in premium economy Elite Class...
