4th indigenous Japanese encephalitis case reported

TAIPEI--Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control (CDC) confirmed yesterday the year's fourth case of Japanese encephalitis following three confirmed last week.

The most recent case is a 67-year-old man from the central county of Changhua, who remains in critical condition after being taken to the hospital on June 15.

The three indigenous cases identified last week are a 52-year-old man in the central municipality of Taichung, a 46-year-old man in the southern city of Tainan and a 50-year-old man in the southern city of Chiayi...
