Salmonella on pig farm

More than 200 pigs have been killed since Salmonella detected on a farm with outdoor pigs in Kalmar County. It is unclear how the animals are infected.
They have not shown signs of illness, writes newspaper Vimmerby.

According to the Board of Agriculture is salmonella of a type which particularly affects pigs, but not been in Sweden since the 1980s.

In contrast, the ordinary in Europe, and may have been transferred to the pig farm with a traveler. The animals can also be infected by wild boars.
