The depuration process underway

The Industrial Security Department of the Egyptian company in charge of operating and running the subway depurated yesterday morning the subway wagons.

Chlorinated water was sprayed on the trains in the terminuses of Marg, Helwan, Shubra al-Khaima and Munib according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. before the subway service resumed.

Al-Masry Al-Youm has monitored the depuration process. At first, industrial security staff sprayed the entrance and exit gates, the ticket windows, the stairs and the banisters.

They then entered the wagons and, after closing the windows, began spraying seats, doors, rails and handles, which are used by passengers to keep their balance while standing, from the inside. They also sprayed whatever else is touched by passengers.

Ahmed Mohammed Abdel Al-Baqi, Director of the Industrial Security Department, said that according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health, a liter of chlorine was diluted with seven liters of water, and every worker had a spray, a uniform, gloves and glasses.

The group was made up of six people who entered each and every train to depurate it.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport has refused to lift the state of emergency along the railways and in the subway after the appearance of swine flu cases.
