​COLOMBO, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Over 5,000 dengue cases have been reported in Sri Lanka so far in January this year, according to the latest update released by the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) on Tuesday.

The NDCU said 5,829 cases have been reported during the first half of January.

The Western Province reported the highest number of 1,956 cases, followed by the Northern Province with 1,390 cases.

Last year, 88,398 dengue cases were reported in Sri Lanka with 57 deaths, according to the NDCU.​..

COLOMBO (News1st); During the last week, 798 dengue cases have been reported in the Island.

The National Dengue Control Unit said that this was a rapid increase compared to the previous month.

The number of dengue cases reported in May stands at 2647.

COLOMBO (News1st); 161 dengue cases have been reported during the past 24 hours.

The National Dengue Control Unit said 2,044 dengue cases have been reported in Sri Lanka within the past 20 days of this month, a sharp spike compared to last month.

2,647 dengue cases were reported in May 2024.

Colombo, August 11(Daily Mirror) - The tally of dengue cases recorded for 2024 has topped the 34,000 mark with 16 deaths related to dengue being reported, according to the Epidemiology Unit.

As of August 11, a total of 34,053 cases have been reported in 2024, with the highest number being from the Colombo district, which stood at 8,201.​..

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Dengue Control Unit has reported a significant increase in dengue cases over the past 18 days, with 2,373 new cases identified.

This brings the total number of dengue cases for the year to 35,118.

Sri Lanka reports over 38,000 dengue cases in 2024

Colombo, Sep 18 (IANS): Over 38,000 dengue cases have been reported in Sri Lanka from January to September 17, the latest data from the National Dengue Control Unit shows.

It also shows that seventeen deaths from dengue have occurred during the same period. This is a case fatality rate of 0.04 per cent, according to Xinhua news agency.

The highest number of dengue cases have been reported in the Province, the most populous province in Sri Lanka. 16,021 cases have been reported in the province, accounting for 41.9 per cent of the total cases...

COLOMBO: Over 40,000 dengue cases have been reported so far this year in Sri Lanka, according to the latest statistics released by the National dengue Control Unit (NDCU) on Tuesday.

The NDCU said 40,109 cases had been reported with 19 fatalities so far. The Western Province recorded the highest number of cases accounting for 42.3 percent of the total.

The Northern Province had the second highest number of cases accounting for 12 percent and the Central Province the third highest with 10.3 percent.

In the Western Province, the highest number of 10,027 cases have been reported from the Colombo district. The Gampaha district trails behind in the province with 4,698 cases.​...
