The Gas Natural company has been obliged to order the evacuation of its central offices in Barcelona because many of the workers have come down with a rare skin condition.
The company says the workers will return after more humidifiers and better electrical earths have been installed.
The 20 story building is new and modern and contains the latest technology, but some 150 workers have gone down with the condition which shows itself as semi-circular cracks in the skin.
It?s thought by some specialists to be brought on by static electricity, while others think that a mixture of low humidity and high electromagnetic fields is to blame.
It?s also thought that too tight clothing can be the cause or agrivate the condition.
Fortunately all agree the condition is reversible, if the cause is removed.
Gas Natural moved to the new building at the end of last year.
