A 56-year-old woman has become the third person in South Australia to die with swine flu.
The woman's death takes the number of swine flu-related deaths in Australia to 38.
The woman, who had underlying medical conditions, was admitted to St Andrew's Hospital on July 12, the state's health authorities said.
"Unfortunately the patient's condition worsened, and she died yesterday evening," SA chief medical officer Paddy Phillips said in a statement released on Wednesday.
"I would like to send our condolences to her family."
The number of confirmed swine flu cases in SA now sits at 1,467.
