Six patients treated in hospital after H1N1 flu outbreak in Glasgow

Six patients are currently being treated in hospital for swine flu after an outbreak in Glasgow.

The patients are currently being treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary after contracting the H1N1 virus but doctors have said none are showing any ?cause for concern?.

It comes a month after a man died at the city?s Victoria Infirmary after contracting the virus.

Campsite owner Colin Campbel died from the H1N1 virus on February 3.

A statement from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: "Six patients at Glasgow Royal Infirmary have tested positive for seasonal flu.

"None of the patients are giving any cause for concern as a result of the virus. All the appropriate infection control procedures are in place.

Swine flu patients remain in hospital


As reported in later *editions of yesterday's Evening Times, the six, who have the H1N1 *virus, are receiving treatment at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

A spokeswoman for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said "appropriate infection control procedures" are in place.

She added: "Any *patients who test positive for Influenza are isolated or nursed in a designated cohort area until they are no longer symptomatic."
