Scottish nurse catches swine flu

A hospital nurse has become the first health worker to catch swine flu in Scotland.
Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon confirmed the 26-year-old, who works at the Southern General Hospital (pictured) in Glasgow, had treated a 38-year-old woman who is now in intensive care with the virus in Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital.
The total number of Scottish cases of swine flu has risen to 88.
A 23-year-old woman from Paisley became the fourth person with swine flu to be admitted to intensive care in Scotland.
Procedures for hospital staff are being reinforced in light of the staff nurse's case, Ms Sturgeon said.
"As a result of developments over the past few days or so, we are now asking hospital staff to treat all patients with pneumonia or any other conditions that might be suggestive of this virus, to presume that they're positive until we know otherwise."...
