ATLANTA First it was E-coli in spinach.
Now, health officials suspect produce helped spread salmonella, which has sickened more than 170 people.
The outbreak has already hit 18 stat, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
They're not sure what produce might have spread it, but the suspect list includes tomatoes.Tracking the salmonella is tough.
The C-D-C says the illnesses aren't tied to any specific product, restaurant or supermarket chain.
No one has died in the outbreak, which officials say involves one of the most common of the 25-hundred types of salmonella. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, headache and fever.
