Low Pathogenic AI Outbreak Confirmed at 3 Duck Farms in Naju

South Korea has confirmed an outbreak of low pathogenic avian influenza (AI) in three duck farms in Naju, South Jeolla Province and culled about 14-thousand ducks from the affected farms.
The South Jeolla Livestock Sanitation Office said the three duck farms in Naju city's Sanpo-myeon and Geumcheon-myeon have tested positive for low pathogenic avian influenza.
The sanitation office has sent the samples from the affected farms to National Veterinary Research and Quarantine Service for a thorough examination and stepped up prevention activities near the affected farms.
