Police: Tuberculosis Patient Walked Away from Hospital

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The Department of Health and Environmental Control and law enforcement are searching for a tuberculosis patient who walked away from the hospital.

Richland County deputies identify the man as 57-year-old Louis Rainone. They say they are actively searching for him, and that he is highly contagious.

According to deputies, Rainone is homeless, so it's unclear where he might have gone. They add that he'd been receiving treatment since May...

LUMBERTON - A man with infectious tuberculosis who walked out of a South Carolina hospital this week is now being treated at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, a health official said today.
