The Department of Health of the Voronezh Region said that doctors confirmed seven cases of anthrax in people from the outbreak in the village of Lebedinka, Bogucharsky District, Voronezh Region, the number of hospitalized people increased to eight. TASS reports this.

According to a representative of the department, at the moment, in seven people who are being monitored at the infectious diseases center at Emergency Hospital No. 8, the diagnosis was confirmed by laboratory, in one it is being clarified.

“Doctors assess the condition of all those hospitalized as moderate,” said a representative of the health department.

Prior to this, on September 7, doctors hospitalized seven people from a new outbreak of anthrax in the village of Lebedinka, Voronezh region.

On the same day, two new outbreaks of anthrax were identified in the region. The first is located on Klubnaya street, 15A, Lebedinka village, Bogucharsky district. The second is on the territory located 650 meters west of house No. 15A on Klubnaya Street. The anthrax quarantine was introduced until December 20, 2023.​
