sharon sanders

Editor-in-Chief & President
Ronan has volunteered to coordinate submissions to ProMED for the various articles and other data that we post here.

Sorry RoRo, but you volunteered! lol

Re: RoRo is ProMED Liaison for FluTrackers

Thank you so much! :tiphat:

A question for you:

First of all, ProMed has its own translators. In the case of both Spanish and Protuguese, not only are they very good but also do not rely on electronic translations as we do. Off hand, I remember regular posting from only two or three members and these translations can lag a good 24+ hours behind English postings in FT.

I presume we should forward Roro the source's link.

1. Should we assume that ProMed will translate material accordingly?

2. If we have a posted a translation (manual or electronic), are we to forward this link instead?

Re: RoRo is ProMED Liaison for FluTrackers

Thanks for all your work and all the kind words, folks!

I would like the link to the original source whatever language it is in. I usually send a machine translation with link to original. The proMED mods have the option of what they want to present.

Thank you all!

Re: RoRo is ProMED Liaison for FluTrackers

Please give the link to RoRo of the post that you think should be sent to ProMED. ProMED likes to have the English translation along with the link to the original foreign language source. Machine translation is ok.

Re: RoRo is ProMED Liaison for FluTrackers

There are translators in the ProMed network.

Some ProMed mods translate or edit the machinetranslation themselves. Some prefer to receive an edited machinetranslation to prevent mistakes.
Some don't have the time to translate or edit themselves.

So if you have the opportunity/knowledge/time to edit the machinetranslation that can help.
