Rio Preto records first case of H1N1 in year

The Reda??oSegunda Monday - 29/03/2010 - 18h38Ara?atuba - The Health Department of S?o Jos? do Rio Preto confirmed today in a press release, the first case of Influenza A (H1N1) this year in the city, 156 kilometers of Ara?atuba . The patient is a boy of 17 years. He had fever, cough and sore throat. No hospitalization was required and he is in good health.

In 2009, the department confirmed by laboratory examination, 111 cases of illness among residents of the municipality, with 7 of them died. In the same period were also confirmed by the Adolfo Lutz 16 cases of seasonal influenza (seasonal flu) among residents of Black River, one of whom died.

VACCINATION
The Health Department notes that the council is conducting the second phase of vaccination against H1N1. Should be immunized against the disease, until the next April 2, pregnant women, children aged between six months and less than two years, and patients with chronic diseases.

For vaccination, the vaccination rooms of the units Vetorazzi, Eldorado, Sacred Ground, Santo Antonio, Vila Jaguar? and Tom have worked up to 20h, Monday to Friday. The remaining until 17h.
