#1: Seoul Shik Poom Inc. Issues Allergy Alert On Undeclared Egg In (Samlip) Red Bean Bread
March 22, 2011 - Seoul Shik Poom Inc. of Englewood, NJ is recalling its 3 pack/2.82 oz packages of “Red Bean Bread” because they may contain undeclared eggs. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg run the risk of serious allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The recalled “Red Bean Bread” was distributed nationwide through retail stores.

The product comes in 3 pack/2.82 oz, poly bag marked with code # ES1120 and UPC CODES: 8801068132175 on the package and with an expiration date of 08/15/2011, 09/30/2011, and 04/15/2012 stamped on the package.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered by NYSDAM Sampling...

#2 Unified Grocers Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Milk in
Cottage Hearth Stone Ground Wheat Bread (24 oz) and
7 Select 100% Whole Wheat Bread (24 oz)

March 23, 2011 - (COMMERCE, CA) — Unified Grocers is recalling Cottage Hearth Stone Ground Wheat Bread (24 oz) and 7 Select 100% Whole Wheat Bread (24 oz) because they may contain undeclared milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Cottage Hearth breads are distributed by Unified Grocers and other distributors to select independently-owned and operated retail grocery stores in Southern California and Arizona.

7 Select breads are distributed by Unified Grocers to select 7-Eleven locations throughout Los Angeles and San Diego counties.

The following code date is affected by this recall: Mar. 26
(The product’s code date can be found on the plastic tab that is used to “close” the bag.)

Cottage Hearth Stone Ground Wheat Bread – 24 oz (UPC# 0-41380-80625-7)

7 Select 100% Whole Wheat Bread – 24 oz (UPC# 52548-00181)

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that a limited number of certain Cottage Hearth and 7 Select Wheat breads were distributed in packaging that omitted milk from the ingredient statement. The labeling issue has since been corrected and the affected Cottage Hearth and 7 Select products are now in full compliance with all federal, state and local labeling regulations.

No illnesses have been reported to date...
