President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed condolences to the United Nations Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, to the President of the Republic of Haiti, Mr. Ren Prval, in connection with the devastating earthquake on the island of Haiti, which resulted in numerous human casualties and destruction.
As the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat quoting the press service of the head of state, the Turkmen leader also conveyed words of sincere sympathy and support to families and friends of those killed and injured as a result of a natural disaster. "Turkmenistan, who experienced all the dire consequences of the strong Ashgabat earthquake of 1948, can not but sympathize with the victims," he said.
