Mosquito Control looking for your help to report dead birds

Your help is needed to help Mosquito Control keep West Nile Virus from running rampant in the First State by reporting sick or dead crows, blue jays, hawks or owls as well as robins and cardinals. Also look for clusters of five or more sick or dead birds of any species. Delaware has seen West Nile virus in the past - and Bill Meredith of Mosquito Control tells WGMD the worst year was 2003.

There were instances of West Nile virus in sentinel chickens in Sussex County last year, but no human cases reported. If you come across a sick or dead bird - call Mosquito Control at (302) 422-1512
