Sounds to me like a gov bureaucrat expressing dismay in the length of time of delay between sending off blood samples to test for H1N1, and the time of confirmation, and it also sounds like the Pasteur Institute is delayed due to backlog in its own ability to conduct the tests rather than from intentionally delaying confirmations.

The part of this post that I think I do understand clearly is that they're administering Tamiflu for as long as ten days in patients... so my question would be 'how long do hospitals in the West currently administer the Tamiflu regimen?'
Could/would such lengthy periods of administration actually facilitate selection of resistant variants of H1N1?

I think what they are saying is that they are dispensing Tamiflu before tests come back. Which they haven't been doing. Also, I've been reading articles that they will "treat at home". So....they will still test, maybe not as much, but dispense the tamiflu, and home treatment, for those not critical.
