WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A 32-year-old Palm Beach County woman who was diagnosed with swine flu has died.
Palm Beach County health officials said Monday that the woman is the 13th resident to die from the virus.
?We extend our sincere sympathies to the family of this young woman," said Dr. Alina Alonso, director of the Palm Beach County Health Department. "We want to remind residents that this pandemic continues to claim lives and, unfortunately, the virus is still very much active."
A total of 93 people have been hospitalized with the virus, and 45 of them were admitted to the intensive care unit, county health officials said.
The most recent victim had been hospitalized.
