The woman had underlying medical conditions and the flu was a contributing factor to her death. Right now there are more than 1,700 confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus in Pennsylvania.
Here in central Pa, there are 186 cases with the most in Lancaster, Lebanon, and York Counties.
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Health officials in suburban Philadelphia say a 19-year-old woman with swine flu has died.
The Montgomery County Health Department says the woman had underlying medical conditions and swine flu was a contributing factor to the death. The death announced Wednesday was the first swine flu related death in Montgomery County.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health says the state has a total of 6 swine flu related deaths so far. In addition to the one in Montgomery County, there are three in Philadelphia and one each in Berks and Pike counties.
