PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―

It's black and white striped, about 1/4-inch long and if you know nothing else about the Asian Tiger mosquito know this ? it bites.

"It's going to mean trouble for us because it is a day biter," Allegheny County Health Department Entomologist Bill Todaro said.

Meaning it bites all day unlike other mosquitoes who nip at dawn and dusk.

The Asian Tiger mosquito entered the United States 30 years ago in the used tire trade in Mississippi. It's slowly migrated and mutated to become more cold tolerant.
