EAST GOSHEN ? Confirmed cases of Pertussis, commonly known as Whooping Cough, have been found in the West Chester Area School District again, this time at East Goshen Elementary.
District Superintendent Jim Scanlon said there are two cases at the school...

Three 15-year-olds from Souderton Area High School are being treated for whooping cough, according to Frank X. Custer, spokesman for Montgomery County.

The three are close friends and caught the highly contagious disease before the school year started, he said. Because of this, the county health department is calling the cases ?community acquired,? rather than school acquired...

?The number of confirmed cases of whooping cough statewide more than doubled from last year, a spokesperson with the state Department of Health said Thursday.

In an email sent late Wednesday night, Cumberland Valley School District alerted parents to four cases diagnosed last month in the district. Three were in Good Hope Middle School, where the state Department of Health placed the school on ?outbreak status,? in which nurses were asked to be extra vigilant in monitoring students and faculty.

The other confirmed case was in Hampden Elementary School, according to the district...
