Ottawa-Carleton board won't close schools in H1N1 outbreak: director

OTTAWA ? The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board plans to keep schools open in the event of an H1N1 outbreak this fall, says the board's director of the education.
Health authorities have warned of the possibility of a resurgence of the H1N1 swine flu this fall, espeically among populations of young people, who appear to be particualrly suspectible to the virus.
The public board''s H1N1 plan is to be released on its website Friday, almost a month after the Ottawa Catholic School Board posted its own flu plan.
Director of education Lyall Thomson said he sees no reason to close schools.
?If kids aren't at school, they're out congregating at the mall or the pool.?
