TRI-CITIES, Wash. - Several stores across Washington and other states across the western U.S. and Texas were reported by the Department of Health, FDA and CDC to be selling organic walnut halves and pieces possibly contaminated with E. coli.
A news release from the DOH reports that six people in Washington have been infected with E. coli after eating Gibson's California Shelled Walnuts, which have since been recalled. No deaths have been reported.
The DOH reports that three stores in the region have sold the affected walnuts. These are:
  • Yokes Fresh Market #15, Richland, 101 S. 47th Ave.
  • Rosauers Supermarkets, Yakima, 410 S. 72nd Ave.
  • Rosauers Supermarkets, Ellensburg, 200 E. Mountain View
