ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The University of Central Florida has issued a health warning after learning that a student who lives on campus has been diagnosed with what is believed to be a non-contagious form of meningitis.
UCF says the student lives at the on-campus apartment building Lake Claire and was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday.
The Orange County Health Department says it appears the student has a non-contagious form of meningitis and has determined that people who may have had direct contact with the patient do not need to take any preventive medications.
