The Niagara Health System has declared an outbreak of MRSA at Port Colborne's hospital.

Interim President & CEO of the NHS, Dr. Sue Matthews says 3 patients with the bug have been flagged in Unit 2 West in the last week. One of them has already gone home, but Matthews says the higher than normal figure forced them to declare an outbreak Tuesday afternoon.

Unit D of the Greater Niagara General Hospital dealt with an MRSA outbreak in July. It was cleared on July 27th. The Niagara Falls facility is still dealing with outbreaks of C.difficile & VRE..

The Niagara Health System has ended the outbreak of MRSA at its Port Colborne site.

The outbreak on Unit 2 West was cleared Tuesday after the number of cases of the bug returned to normal...
