ORILLIA - An outbreak has been declared at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital following a rise in the number of cases involving potentially dangerous bacteria.

"We've seen a noticeable spike with seven hospital-acquired C-difficile cases during the month of July, and three more already in August," said Cindi Wigston, infection prevention and control coordinator. "Our baseline is normally between one and three cases per month..."
