Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos, said in the past two weeks presented a slight upturn in cases of influenza A/H1N1, although not yet reflected in official statistics. He said at the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (INER) the number of hospitalized persons increased from 16 to 33 in the mentioned period. He also said that so far has confirmed only one case of Guillain Barre syndrome associated with the application of the vaccine, which is not uncommon, especially if one considers that in the country is suffering with or without vaccination. Per year are reported about a thousand patients.

The person concerned is of Chihuahua and has almost recovered, the official said in an interview at the end of the Dentist's Day celebration. Six cases were dismissed and six are under study. There are also four additional costs associated with the seasonal influenza antigen.
He emphasized that this causality is much lower than might be expected because they are the only ones for the syndrome in more than 4 million new flu vaccines applied in the country. He said the illness is curable.

The increase in the number of hospitalized at INER was probably due to low temperatures and flooding in parts of the country. Despite this upturn, the pandemic is stable, the official said.
