Tribal girl dies in hostel

KORAPUT: A tribal girl studying in Class V died due to alleged negligence in treatment at Kolab Nagar late on Tuesday. The deceased, Anita Kuda,11, was down with fever for the past few days. She was staying in a hostel run by the ST and SC development department.

District welfare office Rabindra Palka said, "Medicines were given to the student in consultation with the doctor. On Tuesday morning, she complained of fever and died. We are waiting for the autopsy report." "An inquiry will be conducted and action taken if there was any negligence on the part of hostel authorities" he added.
