Patients, staff tested after TB exposure

AUCKLAND, New Zealand, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Health officials in New Zealand are looking for anyone who may have been exposed to a woman with an aggressive form of tuberculosis.

The Auckland District Health Board said it was testing 240 staff members and up to 20 patients who came into contact with the woman while she was at Auckland City Hospital, the Dominion Post reported Thursday.

Lab tests have only recently confirmed that the woman, who died several weeks ago, had a rare form of TB, the newspaper said.
