STOCKHOLM, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Norwegian authorities confirmed the country's first fatal case of A/H1N1 flu on Thursday, according to media reports.

A middle-aged man died last week of pneumonia caused by the A/H1N1 flu virus, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health said in Oslo.

The victim was a Danish truck driver who fell ill while working in Norway, the institute said.

More than 1,025 cases of A/H1N1 flu have been confirmed in Norway and 558 in Denmark, according to a daily report released Wednesday by the European Center of Disease Prevention and Control.

Oslo - Norway on Thursday reported its first death from the A(H1N1) virus, or swine flu.

A Danish truck driver who died last week during a trip to Norway tested positive for the virus, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health said.

Danish authorities were to investigate if the man had underlying symptoms, the agency said.

The truck driver's Danish colleague also tested positive for swine flu, but has recovered.

The danish man who died from H1N1 pneumonia in Norway, did NOT get infected in Norway, he got infected in Denmark and had been ill for about a week before we went to Norway. IN Norway, within 12/24 hours, he suddenly got much worse, an ambulance was called, but when it arrived he was aready dead. That is what the danish health authorities said today on danish TV.
