Ei Ringsaker-kvinne i 60-?rene d?de i torsdag formiddag p? Hamar sykehus etter ? ha f?tt svineinfluensa.

Lars Gustavsen

redaksjonenringsaker-blad.no

Seks sykehusinnlagte

? Hva tenker du om at svineinfluensaen har krevd sitt f?rste d?dsoffer ogs? i Hedmark?

? Det tar tid ? f? svar p? pr?ver. I mellomtida holdes disse pasientene isolert, opplyser Kydland.

Godt forberedt

- This is very heavy and sad for the relatives. For them, this is a sad day, and we will have respect for, "said Havard Kydland, vice president at Inland Hospital.
.
Had chronic disease

Death Thursday is the first in Hedmark so far as a result of swine flu.

Ringsaker The woman had been infected with the hospital in Hamar in a few days, of which the last time in intensive care.

The woman should also have had significant other risk factors in their medical history.

For some seriously sick swine flu is more of a contributing factor than a cause of death in itself, commenting Kydland.

Then shortly after the death he will not go into detail on the woman's other disease state (s), or the disease course.

- But I can say that she had a chronic illness that was very serious in itself, said Kydland.

Six hospitals posted

- What are you thinking about that swine flu has claimed its first fatality in Hedmark?
- We must expect that this happens, even in hospitals in Hedmark and Oppland, and that it can happen again, answering Kydland.

In Hedmark, it was yesterday four adults and two children admitted to hospital interior, with proven swine flu.

Two of these were in intensive care.

Another was an unknown number hospitalized for the study, most of Hamar and Lillehammer.

- It takes time to get answers to tests. In the meantime, these patients are kept in isolation, said Kydland.

Well prepared

Kydland believes preparedness and capacity of the interior so far been attended to and reassuring, even though both intensive equipment and healthy healthcare can be scarce factors of major disease outbreaks to come.
The last week has been vaccinated, much of the priority health professionals. Now we are waiting for the next round of vaccine doses, "he says.

I basically believe that Kydland Hospital Inland "match" of risks health center operates with in his last scenario.

The Director pointed out that it is devoted enormous amount of work and money in preparation. There are established local pandemic groups, and going on frequent communication and knowledge exchange.

Moreover, do the necessary operational changes at the nursing homes as needed. And as a network hospital, we can play on each other, move patients and equipment around for how the pressure is, "he says.

Mute hysteria

By the way is Kydland concerned to curb the hysteria among the people.

- There are a few who are critically sick. It is estimated that only 0.6 percent of those receiving swine flu will pass into the hospital. And of these again will be about 20 percent have needed intensive care, emphasizes Kydland.

At the hospital, there will be particular problems with lung function and kidney function who are treated, in addition to medication with antibiotics and Tamiflu.

- Patients should primarily be aware of breathing problems, most at the end of the influenza cycle. Then one should have their condition evaluated by a doctor, quit Havard Kydland.
