No Bird Flu virus during last laboratory analysis in Azerbaijan

State Veterinary Service made next laboratory analysis to investigate the risk of spreading bird flu with the migration of birds.

During the monitoring held in the national reserves and parks of Absheron Peninsula, Pirallahi Island, Devechi, Salyan, Agjabadi and Lenkeran regions and shore zones pathological material of 41 wild birds, the blood of 10 wild birds and at the same time the blood of 2250 poultry and the pathological material of 1 poultry were analyzed, State Veterinary Station press service told the APA. No bird flu virus was discovered in the samples taken from the poultry and wild birds during the analysis.

In the monitoring held by the experts of State Veterinary Station, Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry and Health Ministry no dead or sick birds were found in the areas. State Veterinary Station is working in intensified regime on border stations and controls the ban on the import of poultry products, mixed fodder from the bird flu affected countries. At the same time disinfectants, special clothing and splashing equipments are sent to each district veterinary station. State Veterinary Station announced that the ban imposed on fowl hunting, selling and the use still remains effective. /APA/
