Norovirus outbreak at Whangarei Hospital

Twelve patients at Whangarei Hospital have been isolated as authorities try to contain a gastroenteritis outbreak.

Northland DHB's chief medical advisor Mike Roberts said the hospital was awaiting laboratory results but in the meantime was assuming the outbreak is norovirus related.

Ward 16 at the hospital has been closed to new admissions.
