Dog euthanized, 3 people treated after exposure to rabid raccoon

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - A dog had to be euthanized and three people will undergo treatment after being exposed to a rabid raccoon in Jefferson County.
The county’s public health service said the raccoon, which was found in the town of Rutland, tested positive for the virus.
Officials said the animal attacked an unvaccinated dog and three people were exposed to the raccoon.
