Week 11: Local
• Influenza-like illness and acute respiratory illness were similar compared to the previous
week at 0.2% and 2.2% of patient visits, respectively.
• Pneumonia and influenza-related deaths accounted for 7.1% of deaths, which was
below the epidemic threshold of 10.4% for week 11.
• Ten new respiratory specimens were submitted for laboratory testing during week 11,
and a total of five were positive, including one for seasonal influenza AH3, one for 2009
influenza A (H1N1), and three for influenza B. Five were negative.
The overall state student absenteeism for ILI rate was 0.1% for the week
based on 77 (12%) schools reporting students absent due to ILI.
