Duval swine flu deaths rise to three
A 33-year-old woman and 43-year-old Hispanic woman have died this month.

Two Duval County women have died within the past two weeks from the H1N1 virus, or swine flu, health officials confirmed today.
A 33-year-old woman died Wednesday and a 43-year-old Hispanic woman died on Aug. 7, raising the county's number of swine flu-related deaths to three. A 55-year-old man who died on July 1 was the county's first victim.
The eight-day period of Aug. 7-14 marked the deadliest by far in Northeast Florida since the disease's arrival last April. In addition to the two Duval deaths, Clay County health officials reported that a 30-year-old woman died on Friday.
The five-county region's victim total stands at four.
Citing privacy concerns, the Florida Department of Health has released little information about the victims, such as a more-specific place of residence. But what little is known about them illustrates a trend that troubles public health officials worldwide: Unlike seasonal flu, H1N1 hits younger people the hardest.
The 33-year-old woman who died last Wednesday showed up at Baptist Beaches on Aug. 8. Records show that she was taken to a hospital by ambulance on the day she died, but it was unclear where the trip originated, said Duval County Health Department spokesman Charles Griggs. No previous health problems were listed, he added.
The 43-year-old woman had an unspecified health condition, Griggs said.

TAMPA ?Laboratory results have confirmed that a fifth person in Hillsborough county has died after contracting the H1N1 flu, the Hillsborough County Health Department reported Monday.
A 46-year-old man with underlying medical conditions died Saturday, according to a health department statement. There have been 48 laboratory confirmed H1N1, or swine flu, deaths in Florida to date.
