Many fall ill as mystery disease hits remote VDC in Rasuwa district

Hundreds of villagers in Langtang VDC of impoverished Rasuwa district have fallen sick due to an outbreak of an unidentified disease, Kantipur Daily reported.

Local residents told the daily that more than 400 villagers have fallen sick after the unidentified disease turned epidemic.

However, the sub health post in the VDC is unable to treat the suffering patients due to lack of medicins. Moreover, peons are looking after the patients, as Balkrishna Chaudhari, Assistant Health Worker at the sub-health post, has not come to the office for the past few months.

The locals said that the patients suffering from the disease complain of pain in their joints and chest including nausea and vomiting.

Meanwhile, District Health Office has said that a team of health workers along with medicine has been dispatched to the affected VDC on Monday. nepalnews.com ag July 01 08
